Introduction
Our Low Voltage Rescue training Toowoomba is the ‘certificate’ you need as an electrician or someone working near live electrical equipment. Our nationally accredited Low Voltage Rescue training includes the skills and knowledge required to rescue a person in contact with low voltage live electrical conductors and equipment. Participants will learn, or refresh, their knowledge on the equipment, including the LV Rescue kit and equipment along with the steps to perform a rescue from a live LV panel.
During our Toowoomba based Low Voltage Rescue training course you will learn with trainers who bring substantial experience creating an engaging learning experience as you carry out a risk assessment of an electrically hazardous situation and perform low voltage rescue procedures without putting yourself or others at risk.

Introduction
Course Details
Learn to respond to rescues involving a live Low Voltage (LV) Panel. This course is considered required training for electricians annually. It is also relevant to associated workers who may have to address issues involving Low Voltage electricity. Course includes latest nationally recognised units of competency and harness delivers this course in a structured way.
Important course pre-requisites apply to this Low Voltage Rescue Training including HLTAID009: Perform CPR. We cover both units during this LVR course because you also need to have Basic Life Support Training, which the CPR Certificate provides, as well as their LVR Certificate. Please see requirements section below
Low Voltage Rescue section of the course includes:
Prepare to perform rescue procedures from live LV panel which involves
- Insights and learning about hazards and risk control measures for specific work functions and work areas are identified and obtained.
- Electricity isolation, tools and emergency equipment safety checking and placement.
- Low Voltage Rescue Kit and Equipment
- Learning about the obligations of those involved as an employer and staff member
Carry out rescue from live LV panel training involves
- Compliance with workplace procedures and work instructions to manage risks, accessing and isolating the LV panel, methods to and removal of victim, where necessary, from contract with live apparatus.
- Assessing and potentially treating of the victim including flash burns, CPR and other relevant injuries. Seeking assistance from emergency response services through to securing the areas
- Workplace procedures for applying CPR if required at the site and gaining access to treatment by a medical professional if necessary are followed and applying any other security or worksite access control
The CPR component of the LVR course is undertaken first and involves substantial practical aspects:
Recognise and assess the situation.
- Make sure that you and anyone nearby are safe before assessing the condition of the person needing help.
- Determine whether they require cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and call for emergency services.
Observe and Practice actual CPR procedures.
- Administer CPR following the guidelines set by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC).
- Show respect and consideration for the person in distress and
- Use an automated external defibrillator (AED) according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Learn how to communicate relevant incident details.
- Accurately report the incident details to the emergency services and follow the appropriate workplace or site procedures for reporting.
- Protect the privacy and confidentiality of any information in accordance with organisational policies.
Review the incident.
- Be aware of the possible psychological effects on yourself and others involved in the rescue and seek help if needed.
- Participate in the review of the first aid response as required.
If you successfully complete this course, you will receive a certificate which indicates the Statement of Attainments as recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. Nationally recognised, The statement is issued by us, Harness Energy (RTO 40521).
The Low Voltage Rescue ‘Statement of attainment’ is for the Nationally Accredited Unit/s of Competency
- HLTAID009-Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- UETDRRF004 – Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel
The Certificate is usually needed as evidence for your employer for safety and compliance requirements.
CPR Certificate is valid for 12 months/1 Year and will need to be renewed through repeating this training
Course Prerequisites
This course requires you to have two pre-requisite training courses – HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation – which already forms part of this LVR Training. All course-specific equipment is provided. Wear suitable practical clothing. Please also review the general important information (relevant to ALL courses) contained in Important Course Requirements

Frequently Asked Questions
In principle – if you meet all the requirements for the LVR training, you can just undertake the LVR component. However, you should note that the currency of LVR and CPR type courses is 12 months. If you have a valid CPR competency from a few months ago, you may need to do your CPR again before your LVR next runs out.
The acronym DRSABCD means Danger, Response, Send, Airway, Breathing, CPR, Defibrillation. During our CPR training you will learn the details of each component and how to apply them to your working environment.
CPR Training is a pre-requisite for LVR Training and is an annual requirement
