Floorhand

Key Elements of the Role

  • Inspect maintain drill rig equipment including minor engine maintenance
  • Rig floor and lease operations including rigging up derrick, preparing tubing and
    piping, running and recovering drill strings and bits
  • Erect and dismantling drilling rig guy wires, casing and BOP
  • Sling and move loads
  • Report plant and equipment problems to Motorman
  • Inspect and clean drill pipe
  • Run and recover drill string and bits
  • Mix chemicals
  • Assist driller in floor operations
  • Other duties as required

 

Role has a range of requirements including:  Holds a Certificate II in Drilling Oil / Gas (onshore) or Certificate II in Well Servicing Operations,  Site-specific competency inductions plus range of certifications. More information provided in full job description – available on request

Motorhand

Key role functions include:

  • Erecting and dismantling rig
  • Maintain and lubricate machinery and conduct minor repairs to engines
  • Regularly test equipment for operability and safety
  • Maintain logs and records for equipment
  • Operate and inspect forklifts, manlifts and catwalks
  • Nippling up and down functions
  • Any other duties as required

Derrickhand

Key Role Functions Include:

  • Stacking drill pipe
  • Mixing chemicals and mud as per mud engineer specifications
  • Pressure and mud testing recording
  • Maintain and operate mud systems and solids control
  • Working the derrick
  • Erecting and dismantling rig
  • Test mud for viscosity, PH, weight, water loss, filter cake and temperature of mud
  • Assist Driller in well control operations
  • Operate and maintain degasser
  • Maintain mud pumps and conduct repairs to fluid end as required
  • Clean and flush tanks
  • Dismantle mud pups
  • Monkeyboard operations

Assistant Driller

Key Functions of this role include:

  • Operate drill rig under supervision
  • Supervision of drilling crew
  • Assist with the planning of drilling operation
  • Ensure relative constant circulation of mud
  •  Take preventative action when mud circulation rate changes or mud pit level increases
  • Run or assist in running special tools into the hole such as; logging, testing & fishing
    tools, core barrel and down hole motors
  • Compile safety audits, daily drilling reports, bottom hole assembly and kill sheets
  • Conduct drills: BOP prevention, fire, stretched and flow checks
  • Apply for appropriate work permits

Driller

This role has key functions including:

  • Operate drill rig controls and hoisting equipment
  • Responsible for well control
  • Monitor down hole conditions
  • Carries out on the job training and evaluation of rig crew
  • Compile safety audit reports, drilling reports, BHA, kill sheets and drilling logs
  • Complete tour reports, pipe tally sheets and safety meeting records
  • Conducts drills: blow out prevention, dire, stretcher and flow checks
  • Ensure that crew understands and follows company policies and procedures

Rig Mechanic

Key Functions of Role

  • Ensure that all operation of machinery, mechanical and drilling equipment is carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with the manufacturers' specifications
  • Diagnosing faults, servicing, and carrying out necessary repairs on air compressors, pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, drilling equipment and diesel engines
  • Repair and maintain all vital machinery aboard the rig, including machinery involved
    in drilling operations
  • Ensure that personal protective equipment (PPE) is used correctly
  • Ensure that all fuels, lubricants, gases, paints and any hazardous materials are
    properly stored and handled at rig site and campsite
  • Supervise the dismantling, packaging and preparation of mechanical equipment for
    rig moves, including re-assembly at new locations
  • Maintain and repair all machinery and mechanical equipment on the rig and camp
  • Liaise with the Rig Manager, Driller and Electrician to schedule maintenance of rig
    equipment
  • Participate in all safety meetings, fire and B.O.P drills and safety training programs
  • Any other duties as required

  • Hold relevant qualifications or experience in line with the position applied for
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas industry is highly regarded
  • Exposure to a working a rotational lifestyle in harsh environments
  • Applicants MUST have the legal right to work in Australia at the time of your application

Rig Electrician

Key Functions of Role

  • Fault diagnosis; extent of repairs, liaise with designated person for action, disassemble units and components for further investigation
  • Demonstrate knowledge of electrical systems such as, general, PLC and hazardous area compliance competency
  • Communicate to all relevant personnel on commissioning, servicing and maintenance, defects and modifications to minimise risk
  • Team work in trouble shooting and diagnosing damage of drilling equipment, pumps, generators and motors
  • Ensure the preventative maintenance program for all drilling plant, top drives, pumps, hydraulics, generators, motors, vehicles and equipment is carried out in accordance
    with the maintenance schedule
  • Have a sound background with current drilling rig operations including camps
  • Actively participate in using methods to reduce operational risk.

  • Experience in the Oil & Gas industry is highly regarded

Rig Welder

Key Functions of Role

  • Work on oil rigs (large platforms erected to carry out oil drilling, processing, and storage)
  • Use specialised equipment to weld metals on the rig.
  • Reinforcing the infrastructure necessary to extract and process oil and natural gases.
  • Construct pipes, bond metals to create beams, vessels, and pipes, and ensure the proper use, maintenance, and storage of welding equipment.

  • Hold relevant qualifications or experience in line with the position applied for
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas industry is highly regarded
  • Exposure to a working a rotational lifestyle in harsh environments
