CPPFES2005 - Demonstrate first attack firefighting equipment

Training Prerequisites
This first attack firefighting equipment course includes the theoretical and practical components to meet the skills and knowledge required to safely and confidently use portable fire extinguishers, fire hose reels and fire blanks to extinguish a small fire.
Participants will gain the following skills and knowledge:
- Operational safety and risk management
- Emergency response including RACE
- Fire types and classifications
- Fire theory
- Fire extinguisher types and their use
- Work health and safety
- Hose reels and fire blankets
- Inspections and testing
Training and assessment is conducted at Harness Energy Training facilities. Upon arrangement, training and assessment can be conducted at the premises of industry clients providing there are suitable industry training facilities.
Upon successful completion of this course, a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the following unit of competency will be issued:

NOTE: Statement of Attainment will be issued by Competency Training Pty Ltd (RTO 31299)

Course Prerequisites
This course is suitable for those who may have a role in an emergency management team such as a fire warden, where they are required to use fire extinguishers and other small firefighting equipment. This course also supports fire protection equipment service technicians responsible for demonstrating to customers how to interpret and follow manufacturers’ instructions on various first attack firefighting equipment.
A basic to moderate English language, literacy and numeracy skill level is required.
All participants are required to wear the following minimum PPE to enter our facilities:
- Fully enclosed shoes (steel-capped boots preferred)
- Long-sleeve shirt with high visibility
- Long work pants
Additional PPE may be required depending on the course requirements.
