Frequently Asked Questions
This Fire Warden training is the commonly used name for the nationally recognised PUAFER005 Operate As Part Of An Emergency Control Organisation. The training covers more than fires, but fires are often the assumed emergency situation that comes to mind first. As such, Fire Warden Training was developed to cover the facilities as specified in Australian Standard (AS) 3745 and AS4083 – and deals with people attending a facility on a permanent or temporary basis such as an employee, contractor, student or resident, but not a visitor or patient. It relates to facilities such as any building, structure or workplace that has people in it. The focus of this course is on helping people within a facility access and follow relevant emergency response procedures that could be more than a fire-related event.
The training is no different as focused on emergencies and the safety of people in the building. Fire is a type of emergency so often people will refer to the the Warden role as a Fire Warden
The Fire Warden Training course differs from Chief Fire Warden – which is PUAFER006 – Lead an emergency control organisation. This course is focused on participation within the emergency control team compared with the Chief Fire Warden which is focused on the managing and leading an emergency control organisation.
