Training Prerequisites
We provide nationally accredited Fire Warden Training to help you to fulfil your obligations when you are required to operate as part of an Emergency Control Organisation (ECO). An ECO’s priority is the safety of people including visitors in any facility during an emergency situation. This training is particularly relevant in general areas where you may be handling those coming to your facility or office for more than straight visitor purposes. Your environment may be fragmented and need support in different areas such as different buildings, multiple transport settings or other multi-site environments. These various settings make this training a valuable component in the WHS training tool kit.
During the Fire Warden Training you will learn how to provide practical implementation of emergency response procedures in emergency situations in compliance with all relevant legislation and organisational policies. Your learning includes 1) How to undertake pre-emergency planning 2 )The appropriate actions during an emergency, and 3)Assisting with post emergency activities. The topics are provided in more detail below.
The unit has been developed to cover the facilities as specified in Australian Standard (AS) 3745 and AS4083. For this unit, as covered by AS3745 and/or AS4083, occupants are people attending a facility on a permanent or temporary basis such as an employee, contractor, student or resident, but not a visitor or patient and a facility is a building, structure or workplace that is, or may be, occupied by people (occupants).

If you successfully complete this course, you will receive a certificate which indicates the Statement of Attainments as recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This is a nationally recognised certification. The Statement is issued by us, Harness Energy (RTO 40521).
The Fire Warden Training ‘Statement of attainment’ is for the Nationally Accredited Units of Competency:

The Certificate is usually needed as evidence for your employer for safety and compliance requirements.

The Fire Warden Training course differs from Chief Fire Warden – which is PUAFER006 – Lead an emergency control organisation. This course is focused on participation within the emergency control team compared with the Chief Fire Warden which is focused on the managing and leading an emergency control organisation.
