Introduction
Course Details
This conduct civil construction dozer operations training unit includes;
- planning and preparing;
- conducting machine pre-operational checks;
- operation of a dozer including stripping/spreading topsoil and materials;
- cut and fill, battering, stockpiling, bulk excavation, cutting drains, benching and backfilling;
- selecting, removing and fitting attachments;
- relocating the machine;
- carrying out machine operator maintenance;
- and cleaning up.
Upon successful completion, participants will be issued a Statement of Attainment for undertaking this course:

Course Prerequisites
This course is suitable for those who wish to operate a dozer within the Resources, Construction and Infrastructure industries.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Yes – participants may be required to undergo a competency test.
If you are competent at the completion of your assessment you will be awarded a Statement of Attainment.
Licencing Requirements
In the NT, the Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011 (WHS Act) and Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Regulations (WHS Regulations) do not require a High Risk work Licence for this loadshifting equipment.
Entry Requirements
A moderate English language, literacy and numeracy skill level is required.
All participants are required to wear the following minimum PPE to enter our facilities:
- Fully enclosed shoes (steel-capped boots preferred)
- Long-sleeve shirt with high visibility
- Long work pants
Additional PPE may be required depending on the course requirements.
