Introduction:

Harness offers a one day course‚ Weed and Seed. The one day Weed and Seed course covers skills required to inspect and clean machinery of material that may contribute to the spread of weeds, pests or diseases. Examine different areas on machinery and equipment, record and issues that pose a risk, dispose of waste and infected material or weeds.
 
This unit applies to workers who are responsible for inspecting and cleaning machinery that is being moved form one location to another to ensure that soil borne pathogens and weeds are not relocated to new sites. It is carried out under routine supervision within enterprise guidelines
 
Theory is presented in a supportive learner centred environment designed to provide functional theoretical knowledge directly applicable to the field.
 
The assessment for this course has been designed to assess the individual to the Australian Qualification Framework, relevant Training Package, Australian and Industry expectations, as well as Commonwealth and State Legislation.
 
In the delivery of this course, our trainers focus on providing an individualised adult learning environment that considers the learner’s employment history and experience in the industry.

  • AHCBIO203 - Inspect and clean machinery, tools and equipment to preserve biosecurity

Learning Methods:

The mode of delivery for this course is face to face in a classroom environment as well as significant practical elements outside of the classroom. In the delivery of this course‚ our trainers focus on providing an individualised adult learning environment that considers the learner’s experience and employment history. 

Theory is presented in a supportive learner centred environment designed to provide functional theoretical knowledge that is directly applicable to real world tasks. Learning materials provided include the Harness student handbook and participants will be advised in advance of attending the course if there are any materials to be provided by them.

The assessment for this course has been designed to assess the individual to the Australian Qualification Framework, relevant Training Package, Australian and Industry expectations, as well as Commonwealth and State Legislation. 

Course Content 

Throughout the Harness course our trainers will cover off the below operations ensuring a comprehensive understanding of both practical and theoretical elements. 

A practical wash down of a vehicle is also carried out during this course to ensure theoretical concepts are correctly applied in a practical environment. 

  1. Prepare to inspect and clean machinery, tools and equipment
  2. Inspect machinery, tools, support vehicles and equipment
  3. Clean machinery, tools, equipment and support vehicle
  4. Complete cleaning work
  5. Report inspection results
