Course Overview


The IWCF Well Intervention Pressure Control (WIPC) - Level 2 course is a four day intensive program designed in conjunction with IWCF requirements. It covers the principles of well control and pressure control equipment during well completions, intervention and servicing operations. 

Well Intervention Pressure Control (WIPC) courses are fully accredited programs. They are designed by Harness in conjunction with the International Well Control Forum (IWCF) requirements. 
  • Understand and apply principles and procedures (P&P) 
  • Apply theory regarding completion operations well control 
  • Understand practices and equipment surrounding coiled tubing 
  • Understand practices and equipment surrounding hydraulic workover (snubbing) 
  • Understand practices and equipment surrounding wireline operations 

Upon successful completion and assessment of this IWCF Well Intervention Pressure Control (WIPC) course you will receive a globally recognised certificate from the International Well Control Forum (IWCF).

Theory is presented in a supportive learner centered environment. This is designed to provide functional theoretical knowledge that is directly applicable to real world tasks.

Learning materials provided in this course include the Harness student handbook and participants will be advised in advance of attending the course if there are any materials to be provided by them.


Course Content

Throughout the Harness course our trainers will cover off the below operations. This ensures a comprehensive understanding of both practical and theoretical elements. 

IWCF Well Intervention Pressure Control Training Content: 
Students are able to choose from one to three of the following equipment options: 
  • Wireline Operations 
  • Coiled Tubing 
  • Snubbing Operations 


What is the difference between the IWCF Certificate and IADC Well Control Level 2 Certificates?

Harness offers accredited training with International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) and International Well Control Forum (IWCF). Both organisations Level 2 Drilling Well Control certificates are very similar in nature. 


The IWCF Well Control training is more prevalent throughout Europe and Asia-Pacific. Whereas, the IADC, or International Association of Drilling Contractors, is based out of the USA. Generally, both IWCF and IADC certificates are applicable in may parts of the world.
