Why should I seek to obtain a Licence to Operate a Forklift Truck?

Future employment opportunities
  • Obtaining a licence to operate a forklift truck increases the number of job role options open to holders of the licence, provides opportunities for a more interesting job and increases potential earning capacity
Existing employment opportunities
  • The definition of a forklift truck as outlined by www.training.gov.au is a "powered industrial truck equipped with lifting media made up of a mast and an elevating load carriage to which is attached a pair of fork arms or other arms that can be raised 900mm or more above the ground." and "does not include a pedestrian-operated truck or a pallet truck". Any person undertaking work of this nature is therefore required to hold a forklift truck high risk work (HRW) licence.
