Introduction
Flange Management Level 2 (Hydraulic Torque & Tensioning of equipment) is focused on Flange management with the theory and practical safe use of hydraulic torque and hydraulic tension tooling. This part of the course is specialised, usually undertaken for groups, and involves specific equipment use on the day and the training facilities at Harness Energy provide all the necessary equipment and tooling, specialist trainers to ensure your learning in this technical area is optimal.
Upon arrangement, training and assessment can be conducted either at our dedicated facilities or at the premises of industry clients providing there are suitable industry training facilities.

This is an industry-specialised training course in Flange Management focused on the hydraulic aspects of flange management – from assembly, types, management dismantling and breaking. See the Course Contents below for more detail on this course contents.

This training specifically aligns to the relevant sections within ASME PCC-1-2013 Guidelines for pressure boundary bolted flange joint assembly.
Level 2 of Flange Management is focused on the Hydraulic Torquing and Tensioning of Equipment. This is a practical day involving using and assessment of the use of key hydraulic equipment which is on a specially designed training rig to ensure knowledge and skills are applied correctly in the workplace and per company requirements. Course Prerequisites
Pre-requisites for this training include
- PMASUP245 Break and make flanged joints
- Using hand tools
- Your own tools (when practical is run on site).
- A basic to moderate English language, literacy and numeracy skill level is required. Mechanical aptitude
All participants are required to wear the following minimum PPE to enter our facilities:
- Fully enclosed shoes (steel-capped boots preferred)
- Long-sleeve shirt with high visibility
- Long work pants
