Frequently Asked Questions
Vehicle loading cranes come in two size capacities 1) Below 10 mtr tonne capacity and 2) Above the 10 mtr tonne capacity. The Ticket course is focused on operations involving the unloading and/or loading of the vehicle the crane is attached to with a primary focus on the lighter type of items which come wihtin the 10mtr tonne capacity. Its not uncommon to see these types of vehicle cranes doing deliveries and or smaller items of plant. It represents one of the first cranes people train in as the weight of the bigger capacities makes the loading and unloading process along with risk considerations more substantial.
While the vehicle crane course is a one day course, you are assessed both on the theory and practical aspects of operating a vehicle loading crane. This includes a written test and a practical. During the practical you will be asked to demonstrate your ability to apply the knowledge to practical operations activities with the vehicle loading crane such as
- Understanding of the job you are assigned to do with the crane
- Any inspections you are required to perform
- Communications with other key skill areas
- Lifting and operation tasks
- Completion activities
